Skate City is looking to add fun and outgoing individuals to our team. Crew members operate the many areas throughout the rink during session. This starts with getting customers through the doors in a friendly and efficient manner, but also includes sizing customers for their skates properly, managing the skating floor to ensure our safety rules are being followed, serving customers from our snack bar, and creating an exciting environment behind the mic in our DJ booth.

Job Requirements

Area-specific Operations

Our crew members operate the skate rack, snack bar, front counter, redemption counter and DJ booth. It is important to know each area of the rink and have the versatility to step in and operate any one of them.

Our ideal candidates need to be receptive to learning new tasks as well as becoming knowledgeable in roller skating. It is important to understand skates and sizing so our customers have properly fitting equipment. In addition, general rink and food safety are also central to our day to day operation, and our staff must become experts in order for our customers to have the best experience.

Customer Service

Our goal is to give our customers the best entertainment possible. We want our crew members to be proactive when working with customers. Rather than waiting to be approached, we want our staff to be on their toes, extending help to customers as they see it.

We also want our crew members to be polite and helpful, making our customers feel their needs are being met.

Transportation to the Rink

Our crew members will need to be able to reliably get to their shifts at Skate City. Whether this is through personal transportation or public transportation, it is the crew member’s responsibility to get to their shifts on time.

Desired Skillset

Friendly and Engaging: Roller skating is a fun activity and that starts with our staff. We want crew members to be friendly and polite when working with customers, as well as energetic to match the energy of session.

Desire to Learn: Skating is a dynamic sport, and we want our crew members to be experts when it comes to helping customers. This can be as small as sizing skates properly to recommending tips to learn the basics of skating quickly.

Beyond skating, there are many aspects to the rink that may be new to our staff. Whether it’s the DJ booth or hosting birthday parties, our staff needs to be open to learning new skills.

Reliability: We are here to support each team member and give them the proper training to make them successful in their future working career. All we need is for each team member show up reliably and focused for their shifts.
